The Need to Retrain or Re-skill

2020 has been a tumultuous year in the job market for so many industries. Many people have lost their jobs, some with little hope of returning to them when this crisis is over. To counter this and secure a future people have been turning to training programs to upskill or retrain for other industries.

In the electrical and communications industries, for example, there has been a skill shortage for a number of years. NECA, the National Electrical and Communications Association is the peak industry body that provides training for the industry (by the industry).

Attracting Candidates through targeted SEM

To attract candidates who will fill this shortage, em has been working with NECA especially in the online space and in particular, SEM.

Over the past six years, we have developed campaigns to;

  • grow the awareness of apprenticeships
  • promote indigenous opportunities
  • attract females to the industry
  • showcase NECA’s training & re-skilling courses

These campaigns have been highly successful in attracting the diverse audiences targeted, with a 16% increase in conversions YoY and 198% increase since the beginning of our SEM journey together.

Carefully implemented strategies, daily monitoring and considered optimisations will continue to assist NECA in meeting and exceeding their objectives.
